AGILIANCE PARTNERS WITH IT GOVERNANCE INSTITUTE TO DELIVER COBIT CONTROL FRAMEWORK
Mountain View, CA – Sept 12 , 2006 — Agiliance, a leader in Security Risk and Compliance Management solutions, today announced a formal business relationship with the IT Governance Institute (ITGI), the creator of the internationally recognized IT governance control framework, Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT). Agiliance has licensed the COBIT control framework and is pre-packaging that framework in addition to other content with their software solution.
“Companies want to use standard control frameworks as a foundation to create their IT security policy library and then use these policies to monitor and report on compliance,” said Pravin Kothari, Founder and CEO of Agiliance. “By offering the COBIT framework as standard content within our solution and providing a mapping from COBIT to our template policy library, we enable our customers to accelerate the process of implementing a policy-driven top-down approach to IT compliance. In addition, as the regulations change, the framework and mapping is refreshed, enabling our customers to keep pace with regulatory changes.”
COBIT, now in its fourth edition, has become the de-facto standard for IT departments to align and measure their value to the business, as well as to comply with government regulations for financial reporting such as Sarbanes-Oxley. ITGI was established to advance international thinking and standards in directing and controlling IT. The group provides the COBIT framework to enable better understanding of IT governance and to help organizations maximize their IT investments.
“The IT Governance Institute is pleased to partner with Agiliance,” said Everett Johnson, CPA, international president of ITGI. “COBIT has recently gained tremendous traction in the industry and we are very excited to see companies such as Agiliance making it easier for organizations to deploy COBIT within their IT policy framework.”
